g-a-i-a what? how do you say that?
Gaia (pronounced ‘guy-uh’) means earth mother. We like to think of ourselves that way, and we try to treat the planet well so we can feel good about passing it on to our kids. We focus on green business practices, print on recycled paper and aim to tread lightly on the earth. Sarah’s home office looks out onto her vegetable garden, and Jessica is

JESSICA AND SARAH IN AUSTRALIA, 1983

gaiacreative, llc is a creative powerhouse of two sisters – Jessica Henley and Sarah Douglas – with over two decades of combined marketing and graphic design experience. Growing up, Jessica would come up with creative projects and ways to sell and market them. Sarah spent lots of time cutting images and headlines out of magazines, creating collages and writing stories. Jessica went off to school and pursued marketing and advertising; Sarah ventured into graphic design and journalism. Together, they make a pretty darn good pair.

sarah douglas has spent the last 12 years as a graphic designer, and founded gaiacreative, llc in 2005. Sarah has experience designing for numerous non-profit organizations, and for clients requesting design ranging from groovy notepads for busy mamas to a website for a chiropractor who practices on horses. Recent design adventures include branding and all aspects of print, web and product design for a start-up, emagineGreen, freelance design for Yogi Tea’s packaging redesign, and trailer artwork for The Durango Discovery Museum’s solar roller. In 2008, Sarah received an American Graphic Design Award for an invitation she designed for the Durango Discovery Museum’s annual gala. Sarah teaches yoga and loves to spend time outdoors with her husband and two daughters. She lives in Louisville, CO.
